ALL THAT PERTAINS TO LIFE AND GODLINESS

God can spoon-feed me, I totally believe that he can. But what joy will I have when I go through life like a weakling? Okay, that’s not right. Sorry.

I get the urge to do everything for JD, all the time. For many reasons. Sometimes I’m late and child, you’re wasting my dam time.

Other times, I’m just tired of telling him again or correcting him and I want to hurry up and press my phone. Sometimes it’s because he’s so frustrated from trying to do it himself and he cries “mummy this thing is not working, it’s going the wrong way”.

Baby, it’s going the wrong way because you’re doing it the wrong way. Bring it abeg and stop annoying me.

Oh sorry, I’m not your favourite mummy, sometimes I’m an impatient adult who quickly forgets the time and patience that learning requires.

But not God. Not Abba.  Someone that his mercies are new every morning… leave that thing.

All that pertains to life and godliness.

All I need to grow and change.

All I need to develop and improve.

All I need to blossom and be fruitful.

All the grace I need while I navigate this earth.

He has supplied ALL

And he can very well snap a finger and I will become the next best thing after agege bread, but how would I creatively use all of the gifts and intellect he put in me?

He can grab me by the collar and hurriedly help me button my shirt so I don’t waste his bloody time. But, how would I learn patience and perseverance? This is why he instructs me to work it out Phil 2:12 and stand firm.

Sometimes I honestly forget that my JD is 3 and I look at him like “ahn ahn, why so silly fam.” But not Abba, he never has memory loss. He knows your frailty and is with you every step of the way to see you become the …. that he envisioned from the beginning. He is long-suffering and will bear with our weakness every step of the way.
